Design calculation of rolling bearings

Rolling bearings are standard parts. In mechanical design, it is required to correctly select rolling bearings. First select the type of bearing; then calculate according to working conditions, use requirements and bearing characteristics, and select the appropriate model from the relevant national standard.
When choosing the type of bearing, the following factors should be considered:
1. Bearing load
The size, direction and nature of the load on the bearing are the main basis for selecting the type of bearing.
(1) When the load is small, ball bearings should be used; when the load is large, roller bearings should be used;
(2) When only bearing radial load, use radial contact bearings (Deep Groove Ball Bearings, cylindrical roller bearings); when only bearing axial loads, use axial contact bearings;
(3) When the bearing is subjected to both radial and axial loads, it can be considered according to their relative values:
1 When the axial load is much smaller than the radial load, deep groove ball bearings can be used;
2 When the axial load is smaller than the radial load, a radial contact bearing with a small contact angle (central Angular Contact Ball Bearing or Tapered Roller Bearing) may be selected according to the rotational speed;
3 When the axial load is larger than the radial load, a thrust angular contact bearing with a large contact angle or an axial contact bearing and a radial contact bearing may be used in combination.
(4) When there is an impact load, the Roller Bearing should be selected.
2. Bearing speed
In the bearing manual, the limit speed is the maximum speed allowed for the rolling bearing under certain load and lubrication conditions, and the working speed of the bearing should be less than the limit speed.
Ball bearings are preferred when moving at high speeds (>1000r/min).
3. Bearing alignment performance
When the coaxiality of the axis and the bearing hole is poor, or the rigidity of the shaft is small and the deflection is large, the axis of the inner and outer rings of the bearing may be deflected, and the self-aligning bearing should be selected.
4. Bearing installation and disassembly
For places where it is often necessary to disassemble or assemble and disassemble, bearings that are separable inside or outside the ring or bearings with inner tapered holes are often used.
